Warm, moist air to move into Kansas City setting stage for heavy rainfall

 


Showers and thunderstorms could bring heavy rainfall to the Kansas City area on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Between a half inch and an inch of rain is expected across the region. Some areas could see as much as two inches of rain. National Weather Service in Kansas City

SHOWERS, THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE FRIDAY The stormy weather is expected to continue into Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Because of relatively weak steering winds, the storms will be slow to move, lingering over the area and leading to the potential for heavy rainfall, the weather service said in its forecast discussion.
