SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell proclaimed May 31, 2024 as 'Alvin Davis Day' in Seattle, recognizing 'Mr. Mariner' as a "treasured Seattle icon, revered for his outstanding career with the Seattle Mariners."


May 31, 2024 is the 40th anniversary of Davis' Rookie of the Year season. He will throw the first pitch before Friday's home game against the Los Angeles Angels.


Davis debuted in Seattle on April 11, 1984 and went on to provide "remarkable contributions to the team and community." He was honored at a luncheon where he was presented the mayoral proclamation by the Voice of the Mariners, Rick Rizzs.
